Playlist for Worship My Wreck

I have found a way to keep myself which is havin a playlist for my stories, and I figured I would give a lit of my playlist and why they fit the story. Some of the songs are more for the trilogy as a whole over the first story. So I figured that we can get started on it.

1. God’s Gonna Cut You Down by Johnny Cash

This is more for the last book in the trilogy, Treasure My Terror, but it keeps me motivated and has the tone I want for the story. But it helps show that Travis is ready to hunt down the person, and knows that he may end up dead in the process.

2. God Knows I Tried by Lana Del Rey

This really shows how Travis is feeling after his mother and when he fails going down the path that Ericka was trying to get him to go down. This kind of goes more towards the end of Worship My Wreck and into the second Cherish My Chaos with its tone and connection to the story.

3. Killing Strangers by Marilyn Manson

This song explains how Travis feels as he starts getting in with his family’s business. It also helps show how he feels in the middle of his mourning his mother. It also shows his path that he will be following.

4. Gods & Monsters by Lana Del Rey

This is a song that shows Travis emotions and how he is feeling throughout most of the story. So this song pretty much fits the trilogy as a whole.

5. I Don’t Wanna Be Me by Type O Negative

This goes really well for how Travis feels at the beginning of the story. He really doesn’t want to deal with what happened to his mom, and he really just wishes that he could be anybody else.

6. Brand New Hate by Backyard Babies

This is another song that fits Travis’s anger and how he is when he starts to get in tight with Tristan and the rest of his uncles.

Well, here are a few of the playlist songs. I didn’t want this to be too long. I may make another if I find more songs or one for each story in the trilogy. Though I did add some to this one for the others.

What I do when I Write

Have you ever noticed the odd things that you do when you write? I know I do, and honestly it’s not a bad thing. They are just my strange little habits, and since I’m a creature of habit, I have to do these when I write.

1. I have to have music playing.

It doesn’t matter if it’s a playlist for the story that I’m working on or just a playlist on Pandora. I have to listen to music otherwise I can’t focus on the story that I’m writing. I do prefer aging a playlist for the story because it helps me write better.

2. I prefer having a cup of coffee.

Now, this may be more of I just have a coffee craving, but when I start writing, I have to have a cup of coffee at my side. Honestly, I have to have coffee when I’m writing. I have coffee next to as I’m typing this.

3. I have to have my phone next to me.

Now, this one is just plain weird, but I have to have my phone next to me. Where it gets weird is that I prefer for people to leave me alone when I’m writing. The only time it’s acceptable is when I’m texting someone to help with the story I’m writing. That’s the only time I am completely okay with it. Other times, just think twice and unless it’s an emergency, don’t do it. Okay, I’m not that rude, but I won’t reply back until I have a break.

Well, here are three of my writing habits. I know there are more, but it’s a little early for me to think of any more than that. What are some of your writing habits? Do you think that they are weird? Or are they just completely natural to you?

Worship My Wreck Explanation

Alright, I decided that the best way to start this out is to explain what the story is about. So I know that this isn’t a true summary, but here it is.

When Travis’s mother was found dead in her home, he had no choice but to call his grandmother whom he had never remembered meeting. Having to up root his life from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Alamogordo, New Mexico, he mets his mother’s family and learns about her past.

As he starts to learn that his family is in control of the local Desert Birds MC, he is forced to decide if he wants to become one of them or stay out of it.
